YouNow: Events Tab

After the major success of Daily Missions product feature, we launched a follow-up product that capitalized on our users' satisfaction. I applied the same process that has been working best for us. To begin, we already had a trial product on the app with monthly events. I created a dedicated product tab, by researching competitors, working on potential flows, creating a functional prototype using figma and lasty testing with our current user base. Through testing, it was apparent to us what flow best works for our user base.

My Approach

Understanding User Engagement Needs

Building on my previous experience with the "Missions" tab, I first analyzed the ways users interact with YouNow’s ongoing events. My aim was to create a seamless, engaging interface that would make event discovery and participation intuitive and exciting for the app's diverse user base. I conducted a deep dive into user feedback from the "Missions" tab to understand preferences and pinpoint areas for improvement.

Designing for Discovery and Interaction

The focus of the "Events" page was to streamline how users find and participate in events in real-time. I explored various layouts and interaction models to highlight active and upcoming events, aiming to boost visibility and encourage engagement. My designs emphasized clarity and usability, ensuring that key information like event status, time, and participation requirements were easy to access.

Detailed Pages and Features

Iterative Prototyping and Testing

I adopted an iterative design process, creating multiple prototypes for testing within small user groups. Feedback sessions helped refine the event display hierarchy, interactions, and visual elements, resulting in an interface that was both functional and enjoyable. Each iteration was a step toward maximizing user engagement while maintaining brand consistency.

Seamless Integration with Existing Features

Since this was a follow-up to the "Missions" tab, I ensured that the "Events" page integrated smoothly with other sections, providing a cohesive experience. I collaborated closely with the development team to align the visual and interactive elements, making sure the design transitioned effectively into the live environment.

Ongoing Refinement

After the initial launch, I continued monitoring user engagement metrics to identify further improvements. My approach reflects a commitment to enhancing user experience through regular updates, ensuring that the "Events" page evolves alongside user needs and remains a core component of YouNow’s interactive offerings.
